Jinglegestaltung: Lale Rodgarkia-Dara.

Frequently Asked Questions –

The Corona Update of Community Radio

Since Monday, 16.3.2020 – the first day of the first lockdown – we have been accompanying the new and socially challenging everyday life with this series of broadcasts. Three times a week around ten editors present this half-hour talk format, dealing with the multifaceted social impact of the pandemic. Everyone is individually affected by it – whether on a personal or professional level – this is reflected in the wide range of our interview partners. In English and German, we interview people working in the media, arts and culture, in the health and social professions, as well as civil society representatives of all age groups, both in Austria and abroad. We ask them how they are doing in this crisis, what measures they have developed to deal with it, what demands they are making on the government, but also what fears, worries, hopes and wishes they currently have. In addition to expert interviews, we also present talks with those most negatively affected and critical minds in equal measure. We want to oppose fake news and conspiracy myths around Covid-19, but also authoritarian tendencies and panic. It is our concern to counteract the effects of drastic restrictions on freedom of movement and social isolation. Last but not least, the series sees itself as an archive of Covid-19 consequences for the future. In addition to talks and live conversations, the program also includes occasional re-broadcasts of other free radio stations. This format was initially created in cooperation with KIT Land Steiermark (Crisis Intervention and Interconfessional Acute Support), but this cooperation no longer exists. Recently, we celebrated the 100th edition of this multifaceted format. Jingle creation: Lale Rodgarkia-Dara.
