Medicine: Use of platelet-rich plasma

Platelet-rich plasma is used for musculoskeletal conditions. However, platelet-rich plasma injections do not work. The use of platelet-rich plasma injections does not improve your health.

In the year 2021, three clinical studies, all of them vigorously conducted, i.e., with high quality, showed that the use of platelet-rich plasma injections in three musculoskeletal conditions, Achilles tendinopathy, ankle osteoarthritis, and knee osteoarthritis is not effective. Despite these results, the use of platelet-rich plasma injections, often with large out-of-pocket patient expenses, most likely will continue. Hope dies last.
