This time in English. With the studio guest Shawn Anthony Wright, who for the past 2 years works in die Bäckerei Kulturbackstube. Shawn was the starter of the branding process in die Bäckerei and at the moment is working with social innovation, branding & networking related projects.
In discussion about the importance of branding for cultural institutions. Introducing the Penguin Project and Trans Europe Halles network for cultural institutions.
Penguin Project.
A project focused on exploring the importance of organizational structures to motivate the professionals working in the culture field.
“What if coming to work would charge your batteries instead of draining them? What if your passions were nurtured rather than exploited or pushed aside? As we all know, starting a cultural center is very different from maintaining one. The Penguin Project aims to explore how we can keep initial motivation and energy whilst create organizations that keep us engaged, learning and growing. We will also explore topics from how we can protect ourselves from burnouts to bringing our passions into our work. The project will span over one year and result in the development of a diagnostic toolkit to be used by everyone.“Trans Europe Halles.
Trans Europe Halles (TEH) is a European-based network of cultural centres initiated by citizens and artists.
TEH members are cultural centres emerged from civil society initiatives that have a multidisciplinary artistic policy encouraging interaction between art forms, with an emphasis on contemporary art. One of the common and most defining characteristics of these centres is that they are based on industrial or commercial building that have been adapted to artistic and cultural uses. Besides this, they are very diverse in terms of geographical location, size, inspirational backgrounds, funding models, artistic programmes, etc.
