By practicing samyama on the relationship between the body and ether, the yogi transforms to become as light as cotton and can move through space.

Akashagamana is a Sanskrit word translated as traveling through space or traveling through the ether. Patañjali offers two ways of accomplishing this prodigious feat: by practicing samyama on the relationship between the body and space; or by practicing samyama on something that is very light, like cotton.

By Samyama on the relationship between the body and space (akasha) and by concentrating on the lightness of cotton, passage through space can be attained. While sutra 3.40 described levitation, this sutra describes moving through space. And with that also through the Koshas in this episode.
