Oneness is not solitude, not isolation.  It is not a singular one, but instead the unity of all is one.  If we find that our yoga practice builds separation, adding to a sense of us and them, we are moving in the wrong direction.  Yoga means to join, to hold together, and what joining is more important than the union of people in a world of growing separation?  

In this sutra, 3.19 Patanjali makes a simple statement: with careful attention, we may come to know the minds of others.  This is not mind reading, but is instead anunderstanding of the movement of other minds.  It is empathy. Sutra Study Wisdom by Chad Haliburton
