Free Speech Camp 2000

Radio FRO 105,0 MHz lud im Rahmen der Ars Electronica 2000 die europäische Parallelöffentlichkeitsszene ein. Unter prominenter und internationaler Beteiligung präsentierten und diskutierten Bürgerrechtsgruppen, freie Medieniniativen, TheoretikerInnen und politische Abgesandte zum Status Quo der freien Sozial- und Medienszene in Europa und Forderungen des zivilen Sektors gegenüber der Wirtschaft und Politik zur Sicherung der Demokratie durch Meinungsfreiheit. Das FREE SPEECH CAMP diente als Forum für Präsentationen und Diskussionen rund um das Thema FREE SPEECH. Folgende Themen standen im Zentrum:

Mittwoch, 06.09.2000: Free Speech Needs Free Media: die Notwendigkeit unabhängiger Medienorganisationen zur Sicherung der Meinungsvielfalt und des Zugangs zur politischen und demokratischen Partizipation

Donnerstag, 07.09.2000:
Free Speech Community Day: Forderungen der freien Medienszene vor dem Hintergrund europäischer Medienpolitik

In the framework of the Ars Electronica 2000, Radio FRO 105.0 MHz invited the european parallel public scene. Civil rights groups, free media intiatives, theoreticians, and political delagates, under prominent and international participation, presented and discussed the status quo of the free social and media scenes in Europe, and accounts of the civil sectors in opposition to the business politics, as well as the security of democracy through freedom of opinion. The FREE SPEECH CAMP served as a forum for presentation and discussion around the theme, FREE SPEECH.

Public Campaining – national and international oppositions strategies of the civil sector;

Monday, 04.09.2000:
Open Access Jam – public access to the FREE SPEECH CAMP microphone;

Tuesday, 05.09.2000:
Free Media Solidarity Networking – Networks for securing freedom of opinion, in example of the Yugoslavian circle.

Wednesday, 06.09.2000:
Free Speech Needs Free Media – the necessaty of independant media organizations to the security of a diversity of opinion and the access to political and democratic participation.

Thursday, 07.09.2000:
Free Speech Community Day – accounts of the free media scene in front of the background of European media politics.
